    We all know don't judge a book by its cover, and the same can be said for the watermelon radish. Slice open once the globular root is 5-10cm in diameter and discover a pale green rimmed exterior with a rich rose red crunchy flesh - exactly the same colour as the perfectly ripped watermelon (well uhhh...it was never going to resemble a banana was it?). As eye catching as your primary teachers earrings (but in a good way) with a sweet yet mild peppery tone, the watermelon radish is easy to grow to brighten up your life and plate. Enjoy fresh or fermented. CRUNCH!
