Propstick Sixty by Grow Vertical

Bigger climbers need a taller support. The Propstick Sixty gives them 600mm to climb, in a pole you can fill, use, empty and use again.

What it is: A 600mm plant support pole by Grow Vertical. It’s made in Australia and ships flat, ready for you to assemble and fill.
What it does: Gives established climbers like monstera, philodendron and pothos something to grip and grow up, filled with whatever media you prefer.
Best used: In a 140mm pot. The wider tab setting fits pots from 130mm up to 220mm.
How to use: Clip the butterfly tabs in at your chosen width, fill it with your media, then set it in the pot.

Built to be used again. Most moss poles last one round. When the plant comes out at repotting, the coir is usually broken down or locked into the roots, and the pole goes in the bin. The Propstick Sixty is one piece of moulded plastic held together by butterfly tabs. To free the plant, release the tabs and the pole opens up. Refresh the media and it’s ready for the next plant.

Fill it with what works for you. It comes without media on purpose. Our Tree Fern Fibre is a natural fit, but you can also use sphagnum or whatever you’re experimenting with. The pole holds the media, and your plant’s aerial roots do the rest.

Fits the pot you’ve got. The butterfly tabs clip in at two widths. Standard suits a 140mm pot, and wide takes it up to 220mm. For the most secure hold, drill a couple of holes in the back wall of the pot, zip-tie the pole to it, then backfill around it. If you’d rather not drill, it stands fine just buried in the mix. You can also zip-tie it through the drainage holes at the base, which is handy if you’re hanging the plant.

Two finishes. Black Eco is made from 90% recycled plastic. Clear is made from non-recycled plastic and is fully transparent, so you can see the media and watch roots work their way in.

Made in Australia by Grow Vertical. For smaller plants and pots from 80mm, see the Propstick Forty.

Pairs with: Tree Fern Fibre 10L · Aroid Mix · Aroid Plant Food

  1. Unpack the flat sheet and choose your width: standard for a 140mm pot, wide for pots up to 220mm.
  2. Insert the butterfly tabs into the matching slots.
  3. Fill with your chosen media. Tree Fern Fibre works well.
  4. Set it in the pot. For the firmest hold, zip-tie it through holes drilled in the back of the pot. Otherwise, bury it or zip-tie it through the drainage holes. Backfill around it. Zip ties aren’t included.
  5. To repot, release the tabs to open the pole and free the plant, then empty and refill.

FAQ

Does it come with moss or media?

No. It ships flat and empty, without media or zip ties, so you can fill it with whatever suits your plant. Our Tree Fern Fibre is a good place to start.

How is it different from a coir moss pole?

A coir pole is the support and the media in one, so once it breaks down or the roots grow through it, the whole thing is finished. The Propstick Forty separates the two. The plastic frame lasts, and you only replace the media. That also means you choose the media rather than being locked into coir.

What size pot does it fit?

It’s designed for a 100mm pot. With the wider tab setting it fits pots from 80mm up to 160mm.

How do I secure it?

For the firmest hold, drill holes in the back wall of the pot, zip-tie the pole to it, then backfill. If you don’t want to drill, burying it in the mix works fine. For hanging pots, zip-tie it through the drainage holes at the base. Zip ties aren’t included.

Can I reuse it?

Yes. Release the butterfly tabs, the pole opens to free the plant, then refill it for the next one.

What’s the difference between Black Eco and Clear?

Black Eco is 90% kerbside-recycled plastic. Clear is non-recycled and fully transparent, so you can see inside.
