What plants is this mix best for?

Does it contain fertiliser?

No. This mix is fertiliser-free, giving you complete control over how and when to feed your plants. We recommend pairing it with a liquid fertiliser during the growing season.

Why does this mix have horticultural charcoal?

Charcoal helps filter toxins, improves aeration, and enhances water retention, creating a healthier root environment for your plants.

Is it safe for pets?

This product contains Acelepryn GR insecticide to keep it gnat-free for up to 6 months. While it is considered low-toxicity, we recommend keeping all soil products out of reach of curious pets.

Can I use this mix for non-aroid plants?

Yes. While it’s designed with aroids in mind, many other indoor plants also love the aeration and drainage this mix provides.

How does the insecticide work?

The added insecticide targets fungus gnat larvae in the soil, breaking their life cycle and keeping your mix pest-free for up to 6 months.

I always buy from this company because their soil is guaranteed to be insect-free. In the past, when I purchased soil from Bunnings Warehouse, I consistently had issues with fungus gnats and even cockroaches.

Now, whenever I buy a plant from Bunnings, I bring it home, wash off all the original soil immediately, and repot it using soil from The Plant Runner. I don’t risk leaving plants in the original soil anymore — I did that once before and the gnat infestation became so overwhelming that I eventually had to throw away all my plants.

The soil from The Plant Runner is absolutely lovely. My plants genuinely seem so much happier and healthier in it. I regularly purchase their soil and care combos and use them as needed.

They’ve recently updated the packaging — the soil quality remains just as amazing — but the new clear bags no longer show the photo instructions on the back with recommended plant types, which I used to really love. That said, all the information is still available on their website.

This mix is chunky, light and airy and smells amazing (for a potting substrate). Since switching to this mix my aroids and monsteras are all much happier -it’s super convenient to use and the bag is a great size as well (easier to manoeuvre and pour than the giant bulk bags.

Fantastic quality soil, super happy with this purchase and my peace lilies are also really happy and thriving. The soil is super clean and will purchase again.

Repotted my monstera deliciosa and within a week, a new leaf is sprouting. My plant is happy with the aroid mix and so that means I am happy too :)
