Aroid Mix 15L Bag

32 reviews
$33.00

Our best selling Aroid Mix is now available as a 15L Bag. Same quality Aroid Mix - just more of it - all packed into a 100% recyclable-plastic bag.

Not all plants are created equal. They each have unique water, light and fertilising requirements to hit their optimum growth and thrive. Aroids need a blend of large chunk orchid bark, perlite, coco peat, horticultural charcoal and compost to really live their best lives.

We’ve formulated a mix of quality ingredients to best replicate the soil conditions  from the rainforest floor where many aroids grow. This combination is designed to be the loving and supporting foundational base for your Aroids.

This perfect blend goes further than other mixes by adding  horticultural charcoal to remove toxicities and added in neem granules to bolster beneficial plant minerals. We don’t add in any slow release fertilisers, so you can be sure you’re in complete control of your plant’s feeding.

Please note: We cannot ship potting mix into Western Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania, or internationally due to biosecurity regulations.

Check out our potting up guide here.

FAQ

What plants can I use with the Aroid Mix?

Our Aroid mix is designed for all members of the Araceae family. This includes many of the stars of the houseplant jungle, including: Epipremnums, Monsteras, Philodendrons, Rhaphidophora, Syngoniums, Alocacias and so many more. Our Aroids mix can also be used in a 50/50 blend with our indoor mix to make a perfect ficus mix (think Fiddle Leaf Figs and Rubber Trees).

Why is there no added fertiliser in the Aroid Mix?

We know that as proud plant parents, you want to know exactly what your plant fam is being fed. By not adding any slow release fertilisers, not only does it allow you to give your plants the fertiliser regime you want, but also avoids the risk of over fertilising.

Why do I need a special mix just for my Aroids?

Truth is, you don’t. Most aroids will do fine in other indoor mixes and medias. But if you want your aroids to thrive instead of just survive, then using an aroid-specific media is essential. With indoor plants, replicating their natural environment as best you can is an important part of setting them up for success. This includes temperature, watering, light and of course, soil. Our Aroid Mix replicates the sort of soils most aroids would grow in.
