A pot isn't a small garden.
In the ground, soil is part of something bigger — worms turning it over, rain flushing it through, roots moving on when a patch stops working. A pot has none of that. It's a fixed volume that only gets what you give it, and over time the particles settle and break down.
Mix is step three. Light, water, mix, then feed — that's the Plant Runner Method. Get the mix wrong and the other three can only do so much: water sits where roots need air, and the plant slowly declines while you troubleshoot everything else.
So this one is built for pot life. Composted bark gives it body without density; coco coir holds moisture so it isn't dry by the second day; perlite keeps air pockets open. And scoria — volcanic rock — is the part that does the long-term work. It doesn't break down, so it keeps doing that structural job long after the organic parts of a mix have started to soften and settle.
No added fertiliser, on purpose. No slow-release pellets buried in the pot, so you decide what goes in and when. Pair it with Indoor Plant Food, and add Soil & Microbe Booster at repotting if you want to build more biology into the root zone.
Treated for fungus gnats. The mix contains Acelepryn GR, a granular horticultural insecticide included to help control fungus gnat larvae in the growing media.
Suits most indoor plants, but not all of them. Aroids want something chunkier — that's what Aroid Mix is for — and succulents and cacti want something grittier and faster-draining again, which is Cacti & Succulent Mix.
